With reference to Your Lordship's despatch No.263 of the 11th August, 1920, I have the honour to inform you that, as a copy of the statement of expenses incurred by Mr. G. A. Walker during his voyage from Hong- kong to the United Kingdom via Canada was not forwarded, it is impossible to state whether the claim may be paid. I enclose for Your Lordship'e information a copy of Colonial Secretary's Circular No.19 of the 23rd April, 1920, which defined what expenses were repayable in connection with assisted passages via the North American continent, and I should be glad if expenses incurred by Mr. Walker might be repaid in accordance with that order. 88
